TRANSFER UPDATE

A round-up of the transfers in and out of Ynys Park

Since the appointment of Kevin Richards into the Ynys Park hot-seat in October, Ton Pentre have been going through a transitional period with transfers both in and out of the club.

Thomas Davies and Andre Griffiths have both left Ton Pentre having completed transfers earlier in the week. Defender Davies has transferred to Welsh League Division Two outfit Aberbargoed Buds and midfielder Griffiths has departed for Division One rivals Afan Lido.

A spokesperson for the Bulldogs said: “We’re really sad to see Thomas Davies and Andre Griffiths leave the club after many seasons of unquestionable commitment and service.

“Davies is an excellent defender who will be an incredible asset to Aberbargoed Buds in Division Two. Meanwhile, Griffiths is another player who will be sorely missed. Both were fantastic characters off the pitch too.

“We wish them both the very best of luck with their new challenges.”

Richards has made several new signings however, with goalkeeper Stephen Hall, defender Lewis Baldwin, midfielders Charlie Loss, Andrew Evans and forward Stuart Brock all joining the club.

Hall signs from JD Welsh Premier League club Carmarthen Town and has a vast amount of experience. Baldwin transfers to the Bulldogs from AFC Porth as does Brock.

Midfielder Loss joins from Aberbargoed Buds and Evans signs for the Bulldogs having been with Newport County academy last season.

Ton Pentre’s next match is on Saturday, 18 November at Ynys Park when Goytre United visit the Rhondda. The match kicks off at 2:00pm.
