It was a Rhondda Derby match to forget for the Bulldogs who were well beaten by near neighbours Cambrian & Clydach Vale as their woes deepened in Welsh League Division One.
Currently sitting bottom of the table without a win, Ton Pentre made a decent start to the match but fell behind on 12 minutes from a strike on the edge of the area.
The Bulldogs responded within a minute and equalised through an excellent Sam Small header following a cross from the left.
Ton Pentre looked confident following the goal but with Cambrian on top of proceedings as the match approached halfway, that confidence was shot when the Sky Blues regained the lead as the Bulldogs failed to clear their lines.
The match was over moments after half-time as Cambrian made it 3-1 and the home team added two further goals before the full-time whistle for a 5-1 rout.
The Bulldogs also had Thomas Davies sent off for receiving a second yellow card and will now face a one match suspension.
Cambrian’s goalscorers were Mark Crutch, Carn Thomas, Lee Price (2) and Richard French.
Ton Pentre take a break from the league over the next two weeks as they concentrate on cup matters.
