The Bulldogs welcome Trethomas Bluebirds to Ynys Park on Wednesday (23 August) in Round 2 of the Nathaniel Cars Welsh League Cup.
It is thought to be the first competitive meeting between the two clubs and the Bluebirds will be dreaming of an upset on their visit to the Rhondda.
Trethomas will hope that the Bulldogs are feeling vulnerable following Saturday’s 4-2 home defeat against Monmouth Town. Having been level at half-time, Ton Pentre capitulated in the second half and were well beaten by the Kingfishers.
The Bulldogs will be hoping to bounce back from that defeat and the League Cup match against the Bluebirds presents an opportunity to do just that.
Trethomas defeated Swansea University in Round 1 of the competition to set-up their Rhondda visit, but the Welsh League Division 3 outfit come into the match off the back of a 2-1 defeat at Trefelin Boys & Girls Club.
Bulldogs striker Sam Small is expected to have a run-out in Wednesday’s match after returning from injury when he came off the bench against Monmouth, meaning Lee Phillips will have a nigh on full squad to choose from.
The match kicks off at 7:45pm with entry fees set at £5 for adults, £3 concessions and free for those aged 16 and under.
Updates from the match will be available across Twitter and Facebook.
