Two members of the Bulldogs Youth Team squad that were crowned champions of the Welsh League Youth Division East have progressed to the First Team after putting pen to paper for the 2017/18 season.
Cameron Thomas and Kieren Bassett have been added to the Ton Pentre squad that will contest Division One of the Welsh League.
Both players were impressive for the Youth Team last season and produced some fine performances for the Bulldogs during the pre-season schedule.
“Cameron and Kieren are both talented young players,” said a spokesperson for the Bulldogs. “They were consistent performers for our Youth Team last season and this has placed them well to challenge for First Team places.
“These latest signings show that if our Youth players get their heads down and work hard, the opportunity to get into our First Team squad is there.”
Thomas and Bassett have some senior team experience having spent last season on adult forms with Maindy Con FC and The Prince of Wales FC respectively, in the Rhondda Football League.
Ton Pentre open the 2017/18 season at Cwmbran Celtic tomorrow (12 August) in a match that kicks off at 2:30pm. You can read a preview for the game by clicking here.
