Ton Pentre announce three new signings as pre-season preparations continue

The Bulldogs have announced the signing of three new players who will take to the field at Ynys Park this season.

Nathan Facey has joined Ton Pentre from Merthyr Saints. However, the winger spent five seasons with Cardiff Met University, with whom he won the league prior to their promotion to the Welsh Premier League.

Facey was also part of the Archers team that produced a shock result to dump then Welsh Cup holders Prestatyn Town out of the competition back in November 2014. He also got on the scoresheet in the 4-1 victory.

Lee Phillips has also added goalkeeper Ryan Griffiths to his squad for the new Welsh League Division One season.

Griffiths has spent the past several seasons with Pontypridd Town and can also count Merthyr Town amongst his former clubs.

Another player added to the Bulldogs ranks is promising striker Josh Toomey. The 19-year old comes to Ynys Park from Merthyr Town.

Toomey has also gained experience with South Wales Alliance League Premier Division outfit Merthyr Saints.

All three players have featured for the Bulldogs in the pre-season friendly matches against AFC Llwydcoed and Treharris Athletic.

Ton Pentre’s next pre-season friendly is against Swansea University at their Sketty Lane home on Friday, 28 July at 7:00pm.

The Bulldogs will play a friendly against Blaenrhondda at Ynys Park on Tuesday, 1 August at 7:30pm. A ‘pay what you want’ for entry will be operated for the match.
