The Bulldogs went to Jenner Park hoping to spoil Barry Town United’s champions party, however, they came away with their tails between their legs.
There was a buzz around Jenner Park for Barry Town United’s final game of the season with 962 in attendance. The home crowd were expectant too, and the champions didn’t disappoint them as Ton Pentre produced one of their worst performances of the season.
The Bulldogs were behind after 10 minutes and from this moment forth they never looked capable of getting back into the match and by half-time Ton Pentre were 3-0 down and out of contention.
It got worse for Ton Pentre in the second half when Barry Town added a fourth goal in the 66th minute. In the 76th minute it was 5-0 and less than a minute later the home team had made it 6-0.
It was an abysmal afternoon for the Bulldogs with the only highlight being the work rate of Adam Lewis and Thomas Davies, who despite the result turned in good performances.
The Bulldogs will not want to end the season with the dark cloud of this heavy defeat hanging over them and will look for a vast improvement in their final game of the season against Port Talbot Town. The Steelmen come to Ynys Park on Saturday, 6 May. Kick off 2:00pm.
