Ryan Betteney has spoken to tonpentreafc.com following the crowning of Ton Pentre as Welsh League Youth Division East Champions.
The young Bulldogs were confirmed as League Champions following a convincing 7-1 victory at Croesyceiliog and manager Betteney has paid tribute to those around him.
“Firstly, I would just like to go on record to give a huge thank you to my coaches Tom (Davies) and Ashley (Luker). I’d also like to thank our physio Ashleigh (Griffiths). I definitely could not have done the job without their support.
“I must also give a massive thanks to the Ton Pentre Board who keep this great club going year on year, which gives the lads a platform to perform and excel.
“Also, the support we get doesn’t go unnoticed, from seeing healthy crowds at Ynys Park on a Monday night, to seeing parents and friends travelling to see us week in, week out. To top it off, there must have been around 50 people down at Croesyceiliog to watch us become Champions. Thank you, we really appreciate it.”
Betteney wanted to dedicate the win to the club’s former Chairman, Bryan Bees, who is no longer with us, commenting: “Finally, I would like to dedicate this to Mr Bees, who put his faith in us with this job.
“Hopefully, the lads have done him proud. Thanks Mr Bees!”
