It was yet another entertaining encounter as Ton Pentre and Barry Town United met at Ynys Park in Welsh League Division One.
After Barry Town United hit the crossbar in the 22nd minute, the Bulldogs took the lead four minutes later.
Following some great build-up play, Phil Clarke entered the 18-yard box from the left and got himself on to the end of a ball into the box. He shot back across goal and put the ball into the back of net for 1-0.
With ten minutes of the first half remaining, the Bulldogs were dealt a blow when Liam Hutchinson was shown a red card for a foul tackle on the edge of the box. From the resulting free kick, Barry Town United’s Curtis Watkins hit a low ball into the goal for 1-1.
Inside the first ten minutes of the second half, Barry Town United were also reduced to 10-men when James Dixon saw red after kicking out off the ball.
Just as the home crowd thought this could be an opportunity for the Bulldogs to take advantage, Barry Town United scored two goals in two minutes to take a 3-1 lead. Drew Fahiya and James Saddler grabbed the goals for the away team.
Ton Pentre attempted to get themselves back into the game but were unable to breach the Barry Town United defence again.
Ton Pentre’s next match is on Saturday, 8 April at Undy Athletic. Kick off is at 2:30pm.
