Ton Pentre AFC was pleased to receive correspondence from Andrew Howard, Head of Competitions at the Football Association of Wales, earlier this week for the work that the Bulldogs volunteers did ahead of the JD Welsh Cup Round 3 match against Bangor City at Ynys Park.
The match was chosen for live television and in order to get the game on, having already been postponed once, Ton Pentre needed the help of its faithful volunteers.
In his letter, Andrew Howard said: “…everybody connected with the club should be very proud of the way that you managed the day. The publicity that the club and the competition received in the build up to both ties was also excellent.”
A spokesperson for the Bulldogs commented: “The letter from the FAW was received completely out of the blue. It is a lovely gesture and will go a long way in making our volunteers even prouder of their achievements.”
