Ton Pentre take on Bangor City today (4 December) in Round 3 of the JD Welsh Cup at Ynys Park. The match and ball sponsor for this game is Real Windows Limited.
The Bulldogs have suffered a huge blow ahead of the game as Scott Hayward is unavailable to join up with the squad for the match and manager Lee Phillips has acted quickly by bringing in Aaron Jewell, who returns to Ynys Park from Marlow FC in London.
Ton Pentre go into the match following a 5-0 hammering at Goytre United last week and Phillips will want to see an improvement against today’s Dafabet Welsh Premier League opponents.
Bangor are favourites for the match having lifted the Welsh Cup eight times as well as competing in 10 other Finals. Only Wrexham (45) and Cardiff (32) have reached more finals than Swansea (18) and Bangor (18).
The Citizens will be boosted by the return of Gary Roberts today, following a two match suspension. Bangor have an impressive squad of players with a vast amount of experience.
Until recently Andy Legg was manager of Bangor but he parted company with the North Wales club after turning down an offer to take his position in a full-time capacity.
Ian Dawes has taken over the hot seat after joining from Shrewsbury Town. This will be Dawes second game in charge.
Legg will be present at Ynys Park as he’s part of the Sgorio commentary team as the game is being broadcast live on S4C, with coverage starting at 2.45pm.
The draw for Round 4 will take place on the Ton Pentre AFC Clubhouse following the match and will be broadcast live on S4C’s Clwb 2 programme.
