Ton Pentre powered their way to a 4-0 victory at Ynys Park against Ely Rangers in the Welsh League Youth Division East.
There was an excellent crowd at Ynys Park to see the Bulldogs young starlets, who were left frustrated at half-time having failed to find their way to the back of the Ely Rangers defence.
There was no such problem in the second half as the Bulldogs ran riot with an assured performance.
Ryan Bettenney’s young men played some exquisite football during the second half and broke the deadlock on the hour through Brandon Coombes, who kneed the ball over Ashley Willberg in the Ely Rangers goal for an improvised goal.
It was soon 2-0 as Matthew Smith stole through to finish with a confident effort on his home debut at Ynys Park.
Ton Pentre were on the rampage and when Corey Shephard played a fantastic pass across the penalty area, Hodges was on the end of it for 3-0.
The goalscoring was neatly rounded off at 4-0 when Hodges ran through the defence to score his second goal and Ton Pentre’s fourth of the match.
It was an excellent result for the Bulldogs who play Taffs Well in their next match at Ynys Park on Monday, 26 September 2016 at 7.30pm.
