Monmouth Town are visitors to Ynys Park today (20 August) and the Kingfishers have signalled their intentions that they’re coming to the Rhondda to win.
Monmouth lost their opening match of the season when they were defeated 1-0 away at Caerau Ely and on Twitter the former Welsh League Division One champions commented that they’re coming to Ton Pentre where they will “…look for our first league win.”
The Kingfishers will be confident too as in midweek they beat Cambrian & Clydach 2-0 in the Nathaniel Car Sales League Cup courtesy of goals from Sam Palmer and Eliot Ford.
Ton Pentre will be looking to build upon their opening day 3-2 victory over Penybont but for today’s game the Bulldogs are still without the suspended Thomas Davies (2 matches) and the unavailable Liam Reed. However, the talented Brandon Coombes has made the step-up from the Bulldogs Youth Team and could be set to make his debut.
Today’s match at Ynys Park kicks off at 2.30pm. Entry is £5 for adults, £3 concessions and FREE for children 16 and under.
