Ton Pentre has added another member to its off field team after the Bulldogs appointed Gary Matuszczyk to its Board as Partnership Manager.
Following his appointment, Matuszczyk told TonPentreAFC.com: “I was flattered to be asked to join the Bulldogs Board as the Partnership Manager.
“The new look Ton Pentre AFC are going to be a strong community based club, developing all aspects of football in RCT, including junior, youth and senior football, whilst continuing to build partnerships with other like minded bodies. For example, I especially like the idea of the charity partnership with Tenovus Cancer Care.”
Matuszczyk previously held a position on the old Bulldogs Committee of the early 2000’s when Kevin Richards was the Ton Pentre Manager. His tireless work throughout his time helped contribute to the extraordinary success that the Club achieved during this period.
“There is a drive within the Club to achieve,” continued Matuszczyk. “It is not going to be an easy ride. However, with the team that is being built off the field, I am sure the future Ton Pentre is going to go in the right direction and I want to do all I can to help.”
Bulldogs Chairman Ceri Jones was very pleased with the appointment, commenting: “The appointment of Gary to this critical role is another vital building block in the Club’s future development.
“Partnership working is a term widely used, but building genuine partnerships requires a specific skill set and outlook. Gary is very astute and will bring a renewed approach to building and sustaining collaborations with the private sector, government, local authority and charity partnerships, which are vital to us as we look to scale the footballing and community reach of the Club over the next 5 years.
Jones added: “We have serious ambitions to be a hub for community development, including football provision for all age groups and abilities up to academy level. The role of Partnership Manager at board level is a pivotal one in helping drive the Club forward.
“Gary is also a fantastic link between the Bulldogs past, present and future given that he was one of the key catalysts behind Ton Pentre’s hugely successful era back in the 90s and 00s.
“Gary’s experience will be invaluable asset to the club and our community.”
