The Bulldogs presented a cheque to Tenovus Cancer Care following collections at First Team and Youth Team matches.

At a recent meeting of the Ton Pentre AFC Board, the Bulldogs presented representatives of Tenovus Cancer Care with a cheque following bucket collections at First Team and Youth Team matches last month.

Ian Lewis, Director of Research and Policy for Tenovus Cancer Care, and Alyson Eddy from the Treorchy branch received a cheque for £105 from Bulldogs Chairman Ceri Jones.

Jones commented: “Tenovus Cancer Care is one of the most innovative charities in the UK and it does some extraordinary work in the community in the way it supports cancer patients, survivors and their families. We are extremely pleased to have helped raise some funds for our charity partner thanks to our fantastic fans.”

In addition to picking up the cheque, Ian and Alyson were also present to discuss the ways in which Ton Pentre AFC can assist the charity further in the future.

Jones added: “I would like our club to be a force of positive action in the community and if we can help Tenovus Cancer Care to raise funds and the profile of their activities through working with the Bulldogs, then it makes perfect sense for us to help in any way we can.”
