AFC Porth were 1-0 victors over Ton Pentre at Ynys Park as the two Rhondda teams met in the Ivy Court Cottages Welsh League Youth Division East.
There was a healthy crowd at Ynys Park for the match and the Bulldogs made a collection for our charity partners Tenovus Cancer Care.
Ton Pentre made a decent start to the match but at times were a little wasteful with possession and it was AFC Porth who were able to muster a winning goal.
An 11th minute cross into the Bulldogs box from the right was turned onto the goalpost. As the ball rebounded over Ton Pentre goalkeeper Cameron Hodder and was headed over the line for 1-0.
AFC Porth were deserving of their victory and will enjoy the Rhondda bragging rights.
Ton Pentre Youth’s next match is on Sunday, 20 March when Barry Town United come to Ynys Park for a 2.30pm kick off.
The Bulldogs First Team are also in action against Barry Town United at Ynys Park this coming weekend. Kick off is at 2.30pm on Saturday, 19 March.
