Ton Pentre AFC are pleased to announce that Lee Williams has joined the Bulldogs as Assistant Manager.
Williams will be with Manager Lee Phillips in the dugout at Aberbargoed Buds on Saturday (6 February) for the Nathaniel Cars Welsh League Division One match.
Phillips swooped for Williams after he became available following his recent departure from Division One rivals Aberdare Town, where he was manager.
Rumours were rife when Williams was spotted in the stands at Ynys Park for Ton Pentre’s excellent 3-2 win over Afan Lido last Saturday.
When Phillips was manager of Aberdare Town, Williams was his assistant and the Bulldogs boss is pleased to be reunited with the 28-year old. He commented: “I’m really looking forward to working with Lee again and he will play a vital role here at Ynys Park.
“Lee’s professionalism will be an asset to the Club and I know he’s really looking forward to working with the excellent squad of players that we have here at Ton Pentre.”
As a player Williams turned out for Hartridge Academy, Aberdare Town, Bettws and Cwmaman Institute.
Bulldogs Chairman Ceri Jones said: “We offer Lee Williams a very warm welcome to the Club and look forward to seeing him assist Lee Phillips in the dugout.”
