Leon Jacka’s 85th minute goal gave Ton Pentre a fantastic victory at Monmouth Town lifting the Bulldogs to 10th in the Nathaniel Cars Welsh League Division One table.
Monmouth took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when Richard Greaves capitalised after Bulldogs goalkeeper Jarrad Howells spilled the ball.
The Kingfishers made it 2-0 during the 18th minute of play when a 20-yard free kick was hit low into the bottom corner of the Ton Pentre goal.
The Bulldogs replied immediately with a goal themselves when Rob Blatchford scored to make it 2-1 from the restart.
Ton Pentre equalised in the 26th minute when Liam Hutchinson’s cross from wide right was headed into the net by Thomas Davies.
In the first minute of the second half Sam Small gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead following some excellent play by Rob Blatchford who had crossed the ball into the box for the Ton Pentre striker to score.
Moments later the Rhondda outfit were dealt a huge blow when Davies was shown a red card for his involvement in a scuffle with an opponent.
Monmouth could sense an opportunity to take all three points with their one man advantage, however, the Bulldogs nearly increased their lead further when a 30-yard free kick from Hutchinson hit the crossbar in the 67th minute.
A few minutes later, the Kingfishers drew level through a Rob Laurie header following a cross into the box from the left.
Despite being a man down, the Bulldogs battled hard and in the 85th minute Leon Jacka dribbled his way through the Monmouth defence to strike and give Ton Pentre an incredible 4-3 lead.
With the blow of the final whistle, the Bulldogs had beaten the odds to earn three vital league points.
