Ton Pentre Football Club are now out of all domestic cup competitions at both senior and youth level after the young Bulldogs exited the Welsh League Youth Cup in Round One at Ynys Park against Monmouth Town.
The Kingfishers proved to be a little stronger than the Bulldogs and after soaking up any pressure that Ton Pentre were able to muster, Monmouth Town took their chances to book their place in Round 2 of the competition.
The opening 20 minutes were fairly even but the deadlock was broken when Ben Jones made it 1-0 to Monmouth.
The Bulldogs had chances to level but were unable to get past Fraser Soper in the away team goal.
Monmouth added a second in the 36th minute when a defensive error allowed Tom Hodge in to make it 2-0.
Ton Pentre did their best to fight back in the second half but in the end defeat was inevitable and Brad Baker curled in a wonderful goal for 3-0 on 68 minutes.
