Ton Pentre Youth will look to build upon the fine start they’ve made to the season when they go to Risca United Youth today (27 September) in the Welsh League Youth Division East.
Youth manager Ryan Betteney, goes into the match having secured the services of two new players – Thiago Inacio and Jack Weaver. “We have been looking for an extra full back to provide some competition for Brandon Coombes and Ashton Kinsey for a while,” said Betteney. “Jack fits what we want as he’s a pacey full back with a great attitude and is keen to learn.”
On Inacio, Betteney added: “Thiago, who is a strong and ball playing centre half, will fill in for Aaron Davies who is unlikely to return until after Christmas.
“We also hope to secure another centre half soon to compete with Thiago and Jacob Ovendale”
There’s not many changes expected to the the team that won 6-3 in the opening game of the season at Caldicot Town, however, Tyler Rees is struggling with an ankle injury.
The match at Ty Isaf Park kicks off at 2.30pm.
