Risca United v Ton Pentre l Welsh League Division One l Saturday, 22 August 2015 l Centre for Sporting Excellence, Ystrad Mynach l KO 2.30pm

Ton Pentre play Nathaniel Cars Welsh League Division One newcomers Risca United on Saturday, 22 August at the Centre for Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach.

Risca finished third in Division Two last season after pipping Caldicot Town by a single point to the third promotion place. They’ve had a difficult start to life in Division One however, following defeats to Briton Ferry Llanswel and Barry Town United in their first two matches.

The Cuckoos have two players on loan from Cardiff City with Shane Parry and Aiden Chappell-Smith being sent to Risca for senior team experience as part of their development.

The Bulldogs opponents are managed by Paul Michael, who as a player spent some time at Ynys Park, and he would be happy to see his Risca team get their first win in Division One against Ton Pentre.

The Bulldogs come into the match on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Caerau Ely. Ton Pentre more than matched the champions during the first half of the game but were unable to stop the Cardiff based club from comfortably winning the match in the second half.

Manager Lee Phillips, will hope to see Lewis Hitchcock return from injury for the visit to Risca and both Jamie Bradford and Aaron Jewell are also expected to be available again for selection after missing the midweek trip to Caerau Ely.

The match between Risca United and Ton Pentre kicks off at 2.30pm.
