YOUNG BULLDOGS COMING TOGETHER

The Ton Pentre Youth squad is shaping up ahead of the new season

New signings: Jarrad Walters, Jacob Ovendale and Keiran Tann.

The Ton Pentre Youth Team is starting to take shape ahead of the new Welsh League Youth Division season, with manager Ryan Betteney and his coaching staff quickly assembling the squad.

Signings so far include Keiran Tann, Jarrad Walters and Jamie Coombes from Stanleytown FC, strikers Nicky Rees and Liam Jones from AFC Porth along with Jacob Ovendale and Thomas Hughes from Ton & Gelli BGC.

Betteney told tonpentreafc.com: “The attitude of the boys so far in pre-season has been great and the quality the same. If they can keep applying themselves as they have been we could have another successful season.”

Assistant Manager Thomas Davies, also commented on the quality the boys have shown so far, saying: “The quality that the boys are showing this early on in pre-season is impressive, especially without the likes of Tyler Rees and Dan Kinsey, who are currently on holiday, plus Jac Clements and Thomas Hughes have had work commitments”.

All four look set to return to training next week ahead of next Friday’s (24 July) opening friendly against Cwm Rhondda FC at Ynys Park, which kicks off at 7.15pm.
