Ton Pentre AFC are pleased to confirm that defender Thomas Davies has committed his future to the Bulldogs by signing for the 2015/16 Welsh Football League Division One season.
Ton Pentre Manager Lee Phillips, has also made the defender the Club Captain for the forthcoming season.
The Bulldogs boss said: “Tom is the best defender in the Welsh League. I am extremely pleased with the commitment he has shown to this club.
“Tom has impressed me with his desire, effort and work rate. He was a natural choice to be Ton Pentre’s Club Captain.”
Since joining the Bulldogs from Cinderford Town in 2009, Davies has been one of the most consistent players in the Welsh League and the defender has won a multitude of awards at Ynys Park. Last season he picked up the Players’ Player of the Year and the Club Player of the Year awards.
Davies is also a firm favourite with the Bulldogs fans who see him as a vital member of the team and they are sure to be very pleased with this news.
Davies has attracted interest from not only clubs within Division One of the Welsh League but also from higher divisions and the supporters will hope that Phillips can build a strong team around him.
The Club hopes to make further announcements with regards to playing staff in due course.
