It is with great sadness that Ton Pentre Football Club reports the passing of valuable Committee Member and true gentleman Phillip Morgan.

The Bulldogs have been left in shock since receiving the news that Phil sadly passed away on Sunday night following a short illness.

Phil was a stalwart supporter who had the club at heart and in very recent years would be regularly found on the Ynys Park field assisting his very close friends Bryan Bees and Derek Holvey.

Bryan Bees, former Chairman of the Bulldogs, posted on his Facebook page: “Sad, sad news today. Phil Morgan passed away last night, a true friend and real Bulldog.”

Current Ton Pentre Chairman, Ceri Jones, said: “Phil is one of the best. He has been such a positive influence at the club and will be sorely missed by everyone.”

Stephen Lowe, the Bulldogs Treasurer, spoke of his sadness and said: “I’m really shocked by this news. Phil was a lovely man who did all that he could for Ton Pentre. He will be sadly missed.”

Tributes have been flooding into the Club throughout the day from former players, supporters and friends, amongst many others. Here are a selection of them from the Ton Pentre AFC Facebook page:
