Ton Pentre Youth registered their seventh Welsh League Youth Division East win of the season after beating Caldicot Town at Ynys Park.
The young Bulldogs took a 4th minute lead after Connor Ray burst through the Caldicot defence to find the back of the net.
By the 22nd minute Caldicot found their feet and equalised but the visitors were dealt a double blow just before half-time.
In the 44th minute a foul in the box saw referee Harry Hendricks, award the Bulldogs a penalty kick that Ray confidently smashed into the net.
Less than a minute later Connor Berry mustered a shot from nowhere on the edge of the box. He curled the ball out of the goalkeeper’s reach to make it 3-1.
The game looked won but Caldicot didn’t give up and made it 3-2 in the 50th minute before drawing level once again in the 53rd to make it 3-3.
The young Bulldogs then finished the game strongly with Berry grabbing his second of the match in the 73rd minute before an 89th minute penalty allowed Ray to complete his hat-trick.
Following this 5-3 win the Bulldogs can now look forward to their Quarter Final match in the FAW Youth Cup against Bala Town on Sunday, 1 February at Ynys Park. The match kicks off at 2:00pm and entry for this game will be £2 with those aged 16 and under free.
