Ton Pentre Youth make the short trip down the Valley to AFC Porth today (18 January) for a mouthwatering Rhondda Derby.
However, both teams eagerly await news on the condition of the pitch at Dinas Park, following freezing temperatures overnight.
Youth Team Manager Ryan Betteney, has a full squad available to him with the exception of Owain Davies.
Betteney told tonpentreafc.com: “We are aware of the threat that AFC Porth pose and are not going to underestimate them.
“They beat us at Ynys Park three months ago so we want to put that right and get the three points that we look to achieve in every game regardless of who the opponents are.
“The boys are focused on the task at hand and have been magnificent since we lost to Porth at home and have really come together as a team.”
The Bulldogs Youth Team Manager also believes that the team are prepared despite not playing for several weeks, saying: “We have worked hard over Christmas and throughout some horrendous weather conditions and therefore feel that we are ready and fully prepared for the game.”
The match at Dinas Park in the Ivy Court Cottages Welsh Youth League Division East kicks off at 2:00pm.
9:40am AFC Porth have tweeted that the pitch at Dinas Park is frozen and their Under 7s match has been postponed. There will be a further pitch inspection at 12:00pm.
