PHILLIPS SET FOR FIRST MATCH IN CHARGE (UPDATED)

Ton Pentre v Caerau Ely | Welsh League Division One | Saturday, 3 January 2014 | Kick off: 2:00pm | Ynys Park

New Bulldogs Manager Lee Phillips will take the Ynys Park hot-seat for the first time in the match against third placed Caerau Ely on Saturday, 3 January 2015.

Phillips, who was appointed Ton Pentre boss in mid-December, got his squad together over the festive break in preparation for what will be a very tough match at Ynys Park.

The former Cardiff City professional will be fully aware that when the teams last met in September, Caerau Ely beat the Bulldogs 8-2.

The Ton Pentre squad would certainly like to put that match well and truly behind them with a revenge victory on Saturday, however, Caerau Ely Manager Nana Baah has assembled a useful looking team that are dark horses for the Division One title.

However, title ambitions were put in check on 27 December when they suffered a shock defeat to Pontardawe Town, who are third from bottom in the table.

That surprise defeat is likely to spur Baah’s men on, however, the Bulldogs players will also be up for the match as they look to impress their new Manager.

This match is certainly set to be an entertaining encounter and it kicks off at 2:00pm.
