Ton Pentre Youth are once again in Cup action as they welcome to Cwmbran Celtic to Ynys Park on Monday, 8 December in the Welsh League Youth Cup.
This Round Two match kicks off at 7:15pm and manager Ryan Betteney is expected to make several changes following a poor first half display in their FAW Youth Cup match against Briton Ferry Llansawel last week.
Nathan Phillips is still struggling for fitness with the groin problem that kept him out of the last match. Meanwhile, Callum Rees is training again but a playing return may be too soon against Cwmbran Celtic.
Ahead of the match, Betteney told tonpentreafc.com: “It was a great win last week for all the boys, including everyone behind the scenes at the Club, but as good as we were to pull it back from 2-0 down, we were just as poor in the first half, which is not acceptable.
“We will hope to take some momentum from the last game into this and get through to the last eight of the Welsh League Youth Cup. We know that we will have to be on top of our game as Cwmbran Celtic are always a strong and hardworking side.”
