Ton Pentre AFC is delighted to confirm that it will launch a new youth team in preparation for the 2014/2015 season.

Ton Pentre AFC BadgeIt is a significant move for the Bulldogs and the club is looking to recruit a group of committed and talented young players that have the desire and ambition to potentially progress to play senior football at Welsh League level.

The young Bulldogs will begin life competing in the local Rhondda & District Youth League (Under 18), however the longer term vision is to enter a team into the Welsh League Youth Division (Under 19).

A Bulldogs spokesman outlined some of the thinking behind the exciting development: “The long term aspiration is to develop a supply chain for our Welsh League team, but there is a wider rationale in that we want to offer the youth of the upper Rhondda a realistic opportunity of playing Welsh League football in the Valley.

“The Bulldogs have always been the number one club in the Rhondda and we want to connect the club to the local communities by providing the next generation with this fantastic opportunity of playing in the famous red shirt”.

Ton Pentre AFC has already moved to appoint a management team for the new outfit and an announcement will be made in due course.

Anyone who is currently unattached between the age of 16-18 and interested in playing for the new youth team please email the Bulldogs at tonpentreafc.youth@gmail.com.

Furthermore, the introduction of the new youth team presents a valuable opportunity for local businesses and organisations to sponsor the club; to explore such partnerships please contact Ceri Jones at sponsorthebulldogs@gmail.com.
