There will be a pitch inspection at Ynys Park from 11.00am on Saturday, 2nd November ahead of the scheduled 2.00pm kick off against local rivals Cambrian & Clydach Vale.
The playing surface at Ynys Park has been bombarded by the poor weather conditions that the Rhondda Valleys has experienced over the past week. We will keep you right up to date on the status of the game across our website, Facebook page and Twitter feed.
If this Nathaniel Cars Welsh League Division One match does go ahead, there is potential for some high quality Rhondda Derby entertainment as both Ton Pentre and Cambrian & Clydach Vale will fancy themselves against each other at Ynys Park.
The Bulldogs however, go into this derby clash understrength with a hamstring injury continuing to sideline Andre Griffiths and captain Adam Lewis will be absent through suspension.
In Ton Pentre’s last game they were also without defender Ross Porter with Dean Morris being forced to select a makeshift defence, with Leon Young dropping back from midfield. Despite the changes, the Bulldogs earned a very credible away point against a strong Monmouth Town team.
Cambrian & Clydach Vale currently sit 13th in the Division One table with 8 points from 6 matches and the Bulldogs are in 8th with 11 points from 10 games.
Nevertheless, as their run in the FAW theWord Cup has proved, Cambrian will be favourites against the Bulldogs having reached the semi-finals of the competition after knocking out Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League clubs Aberystwyth Town, Afan Lido and Port Talbot Town.
Over the past 10 meetings between Ton Pentre and Cambrian & Clydach Vale, it’s the Bulldogs who come out marginally on top. Ton Pentre have won 3, drawn 5 and lost 2 with 11 goals for and 11 goals against.
If the pitch at Ynys Park passes its inspection, our Bulldogs Live Score service will be available from kick off here on TonPentreAFC.com with the usual updates across Twitter and Facebook.
