Dean Morris, Ton Pentre’s manager, will go into today’s (Saturday, 31st August) match against Pontardawe Town with several injury concerns.

photo (35)The Bulldogs are still awaiting news on the fitness of striker Jaymie Wearn, who scored Ton Pentre’s goal in the midweek 1-1 draw at Aberdare Town before limping off the pitch.

Morris is likely to be without key defender Ross Porter for the visit of Pontardawe Town due to a foot injury and there will need to be an assessment on the fitness of Andre Griffiths before it is decided whether he will take part in the match. Griffiths sat out the Aberdare match with a strained hamstring and it is a race against time whether he will be recovered to play today.

Pontardawe Town have had a mixed start to the season losing to Goytre (Gwent) and Haverfordwest County but beat West End, who are the reigning champions, 3-0 .

Before the start of the season, Stephen Price stepped down as manager of the west Wales club to take charge of Garden Village, with former assistant manager Jason Dykes taking the reigns.

Dykes has managed the Pontardawe Town Youth team to three successive titles and will hope that he can guide his team to victory at Ynys Park today.
