Cwmbran Celtic visit Ynys Park today (Saturday, 27th April) for a match that they must win as the Gwent outfit are fighting for their MacWhirter Welsh League Division One survival.

Cwmbran Celtic Home 27 April 2013The Bulldogs of Ton Pentre will also be vying for victory as manager Dean Morris desperately wants his team to finish the season as comfortably as possible. It remains mathematically possible for Ton Pentre to yet finish in the bottom three.

Of late, the Bulldogs have turned in some fine performances after comfortably beating bottom of the table Caerleon and gaining a point at home to promotion chasing Haverfordwest County. In fact, Ton Pentre should have beaten the Pembrokeshire outfit last Saturday having been the better team.

Meanwhile, Cwmbran Celtic have been playing catch-up with their fixtures and despite this they still remain the club in Division One who have played the least amount of games.

Ton Pentre will be weary of Cwmbran Celtic however, as throughout April, they have beaten Pontardawe Town, Barry Town and Caerleon. The only blemish on this month’s record is a defeat to Aberdare Town. Therefore, Celtic will be confident for their visit to Ynys Park.

This encounter is sure to be an entertaining spectacle and it all kicks off at 2.30pm.
