Goytre United are the visitors to Ynys Park for the very first MacWhirter Welsh League match of 2013. This Division One encounter kicks off at 7.30pm.

Goytre United FCDue to the extremely poor weather, Ton Pentre have not played since their 2-1 win at Bryntirion Athletic on 7th December.

Incredibly, the Bulldogs have not played at home since 2nd November when they drew 0-0 against Cambrian & Clydach Vale.

With football grounds across the whole of Wales having been lambasted by wet weather, club officials are hopeful that the convalescent Ynys Park field will have recovered in time for Goytre’s visit, with Friday’s weather forecast looking encouraging.

Despite the long layoff, Bulldogs manager Dean Morris will be hopeful that his squad will be harmonised following victory in Ton Pentre’s last match, but will have to welcome the Goyts without the services of suspended duo Joe Leahy (3 matches) and captain Adam Lewis (1 match).

Surprisingly Goytre United are currently second from bottom in the Division One table with two wins and two draws from 13 matches.

Ton Pentre last played at Ynys Park in the 0-0 draw against Cambrian & Clydach on 2nd November.

Ton Pentre last played at Ynys Park in the 0-0 draw against Cambrian & Clydach on 2nd November.

One of those victories was an emphatic 4-1 win against the Bulldogs and while Ton Pentre will be looking for revenge, Goytre will endeavor to complete a double over the Rhondda outfit under the guidance of returning manager Robert Cooke, who replaced the outgoing Derek Brazil in November.
