Former Bulldogs striker McCarthy is set for a swift return to Ynys Park with AFC Porth.

The clash between these two old adversaries kicks off at 7.30pm and the excitement is already building as the Bulldogs look to get their revenge for a 1-0 defeat at Dinas Park back in September.

Adding extra spice to this match will be the return of former Ton Pentre striker Tom McCarthy, who transferred out of Ynys Park to Porth several weeks ago. McCarthy has hit form since his departure as he has scored several goals for the Black Dragons to help lift them to the summit of the Division One table.

As a result, AFC Porth will be feeling the pressure in this match as they are clear favourites to take all three points along with a season double over the Bulldogs under the guidance of manager Adrian Needs.

Whilst attempting to foil the Black Dragons, Bulldogs manager Dean Morris will be without suspended striker Joe Leahy following his sending off in Ton Pentre’s excellent 2-1 win at Bryntirion Athletic last Friday night. This derby match will be the first of a three match suspension for the striker.

Ton Pentre will hope that they will bring their fine performance from the abovementioned match into this encounter and perhaps spring a surprise on the top-of-the-table visitors.

Meanwhile, Porth will also look to continue where they left off last week against Goytre United as the Black Dragons easily dispatched of the Port Talbot based club 4-2 at Dinas Park.

Hopefully there will be a large crowd present at Ynys Park deserving of this occasion and the match is certain to an entertaining affair.

Finally, as you will be aware, the weather conditions of late have not been conducive to football but temperatures are expected to rise on Friday and hopefully the forecasted rain will not affect the Ynys Park pitch. We will of course update you via this website and our Twitter feed and Facebook page should the need arise due to the weather.
