Freeze Takes Out Ton Pentre v Haverfordwest
Following an inspection by a Welsh League match official, the playing surface at Ynys Park has been deemed dangerous and unplayable. Therefore, today’s match between Ton Pentre and Haverfordwest County has been called off.
The overnight subzero temperatures froze the pitch solid and at the time of the inspection none of the playing surface had begun to thaw.
Unfortunately the touchline on the dugout side of the pitch does not get exposed to the sun at this time of the year and the inspecting match official was concerned that it would not soften in time, if at all, for the 2pm kick off.
Rhondda rivals Cambrian & Clydach Vale’s Division One match at home to Caerleon has also been postponed today for the same reason.
The match with Haverfordwest will now be rearranged for a later date.
